CREDITS

This page is devoted to people whose suggestions, comments, and other support have helped me to shape and refine this website. It is still evolving, so make your mark on history, and join this august group. (If I've overlooked anyone, please let me know!)

Famous Last Words (Writing Section)

Thanks to Geoffrey Q. Ralls for several tips, including Four Weddings and a Funeral, and to Hugh Sterbakov, AKA "Darkhugh," for nominating The Shawshank Redemption. Michel Plungjan gets credit for being the first to mention everybody's favorite, Casablanca. Brad Smith came up with several, including the famous ending of Some Like it Hot.

It's Hard to Say (Talent Section)

Special thanks to Ray Prince for his ongoing interest and help. Liza Poor gets credit for several good entries. Hats off also to Juanita Wyles, Isobel Hirst, John Daw, Lynda Mason Green, R.D. Pepper, Paul Moder, Claude Evans, Mag Ruffman and Daniel Hunter, John Varga, Christine Berry, Jack McCann, Connie Terwilliger, R. Holman, and Lou Grantt for their contributions. Also, thanks to Randy Jacoby and George Blackwell for providing corrections and missing parts. Several good exercises in Part Two come from Edith Skinner's excellent book Speak With Distinction, edited by Lilene Mansell. I highly recommend it.

Content Providers

Big thanks to Robert M. Goodman for allowing the use of his software reviews on the Screenplay Software page. On that same page, commendations to John Gallagher, Don Morrison, and Shaun Breidbart for the template/macro packages they've provided, and Patrick Benson for the BBC tip. Also thanks to Colin Brunton for the use of the low-budget film scriptwriting tipsheet, and KQED for the Ken Burns interview in the Video section. Chris Owen gets major thanks for providing the m.w.s. Mini-FAQ file, as does Lawrence Gray for allowing the use of his conference reports on the screenwriting FAQs page.

Technical Suggestions

Jerry Muelver, Xina Gibbs, Harry Wykes, and other users of Compuserve's Internet Publishing Forum have helped solve numerous problems. I should also mention that my original web host, Netgate Communications, offered great technical support for many years, and really helped get things going. The site is now hosted elsewhere as a cost-saving measure, but the Netgate crew is great and deserves a mention.

Design Suggestions

Harry Evans' thorough analysis, and comments both pro and con, have been very helpful. Loretta Painter's detailed and insightful critique also yielded many useful suggestions.

Content Suggestions

Tara Prindle of the NativeTech website has been very supportive in helping me fine-tune my Native American page. Thanks to Joel Binford, Art Lynch, and K. Carter for providing missing information on the AFTRA/SAG locals page; Bill Holland, who noticed and reported an outdated reference in one of the software reviews; and John McGough, for suggesting an updated screenwriting contest link.

Testing and Reporting

Among many others, thanks to Mike Strobele, Joe Zlomek, Larry Gamble, Robert Goodman, Des Walsh, and especially Tom Wilson, for testing specific features and/or reporting problems.

General Advice

Sean Howard of Visionary Designs was very supportive long before the site even got published, and his site includes advice that is very useful to any webmaster.

And my wife Becky gets the most credit because she's had to endure every step of this long process.

THANKS in advance for your input.
