Documentary and Informational Programs

Just a few samples to show the range of production styles and applications I've worked on. Feel free to inquire about others!

Apache Woman

Library Video Company: Indians of North America This is a series of 1/2-hour documentaries intended primarily for the school market. Each unit covers one Native American tribe. These programs integrate archival photographs, original research, expert interviews and extensive location footage.

Among the modules I wrote was The Apache, which won a Telly award. I was the scriptwriter for eight units altogether, and wrote outlines for two more.

Burning Curiosity

Du Pont: Discovery When the Du Pont company first expanded its pharmaceutical division, it built a new research facility. It soon received frequent requests for tours from schools and other groups. This Nova-style documentary was created to show off the facility and explain what went on there. It included a brief overview of biochemical research history, to establish a context for the advanced work taking place today.

I was the scriptwriter for this production.

BPUM Daycare Graduation BPUM Impact Corporation: Investment in Hope As a non-profit Economic Development Corporation in a large eastern city, BPUM needed a documentary to explain its history, its operation, and its goals to decision-makers in the political and business community, for whom EDCs might be unfamiliar. The program included archival photographs and TV news clips, interviews, diverse location footage, voiceover narration, and an on-camera spokesperson.

I wrote, produced, directed and edited this program.
