Talent Unions: Local Offices |
Some pages on this site advise you to "call your local office," so I figured I should try to provide the phone numbers. That's not as easy as one might think. Some parts of the country have a local contact for one union and not the other. In some places where SAG and AFTRA both have a presence, they may share offices, but not the same phone number. Note: sometimes there may be a local (non-long-distance) phone number -- but as of this writing, the national union only provides a toll-free number.
Matters are confused further by the consolidation and closing of a few local offices, and by the splitting of area codes by local phone companies. Bottom line: If you try a number that doesn't work, or can't figure out who to call, try either of the national offices and ask them if there is a local office handling your area; if not, you may end up doing all your union business directly with headquarters. Luckily, both unions provide toll-free numbers for use by members who do not have an office nearby. This list was updated October 2003.
